Claire Huddart is a former freestyle swimmer who represented Great Britain at two consecutive Olympic Games, beginning in 1996. She also achieved national success, winning the 200 metres freestyle title at the 1998 ASA National Championships.
Claire represented England at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, winning gold in the 4×100m freestyle relay and silver in the 4×200m freestyle relay and went on to win two further silver medals in relay events at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Her performances established her as a key member of British relay teams during the 1990s, with her highlight coming in 2000 when the British women, led off by Claire, set a World Record in the short course 4x200 Freestyle Relay.
Following her swimming career, Claire moved into high-performance sport operations and is now Head of Sport Services at the UK Sports Institute, where she plays a leading role in creating world-class training environments that support Olympic and Paralympic athletes and coaches.
