Sam Quek MBE is a former England international hockey player who represented England and Great Britain over 125 times. She was a key member of the team that won gold at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, playing an important role in one of the most iconic moments in British hockey history, and was part of the 2014 Commonwealth silver medal winning team in Glasgow. Sam studied Sport & Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University, graduating in 2010, where she balanced her academic studies with her development as an elite athlete.
Following her playing career, Sam has built a successful career in broadcasting and media, becoming a regular presenter and commentator across major sporting events, as well as appearing on shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and A Question of Sport. Appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to hockey, she continues to promote sport and inspire future generations through her work in the media.
