Architect Carlos Bayod to guest lecture at Leeds Beckett
The free event, which is open to the public, will be held from 1-2pm on Thursday 12 February in Lecture Theatre A in the Rose Bowl at City Campus with no booking required.
During the session Carlos will discuss his career as an architect, projects he has worked on, and his current role in the Spanish capital. There will also be an opportunity to ask him questions at the end of his lecture.
The event forms part of the Inside Out guest lecture programme, hosted by the University's School of Art, Architecture & Design (AAD) which runs until Thursday 26 March. Other high profile speakers in the series are: fashion and textile designer, Jane Bowler whose clients include music stars Lady Gaga, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, on Thursday March 5 and Michael England, an award winning multi-disciplinary artist whose skills are sought from clients such as the Sony Music, the BBC and Channel 4, on Thursday 19 March.
Peter Dixon, Senior Lecturer in the University’s School of AAD, who has organised the series, commented: “Carlos Bayod’s lecture will be of great interest to anyone with a love or appreciation of architecture. He has worked at an international level and I’m looking forward to hearing about his career journey and the vast array of projects he and FACTUM Arte have undertaken.
“The Inside Out series has become an annual staple in the Leeds Beckett calendar which offers historical, theoretical and critical analyses of the arts, architecture and design, and creates a platform for internationally recognised practitioners to engage with our School. We have a fantastic set of speakers for 2015, and we’d encourage members of the public and anyone with an interest in the arts to engage with the sessions.”
