Graphic designer Jon Jeffrey to guest lecture at Leeds Beckett
The free event, which is open to the public, will be held from 1-2pm on Thursday 19 February in Lecture Theatre A in the Rose Bowl at City Campus. No booking is required.
With clients ranging from Nike and Adidas to the British Council, the Natural History Museum and Google, Jon will discuss his career to date and Bibliothèque projects past and present.
He commented: “Bibliotheque are a very collaborative studio and we are actively involved in design beyond our day to day practice. We enjoy being involved in events outside of the studio and talking to students and sharing our experiences.”
The event forms part of the Inside Out guest lecture programme, hosted by the University's School of Art, Architecture & Design (AAD) which runs until Thursday 26 March. Other high profile speakers in the series include: fashion and textile designer, Jane Bowler, whose clients include music stars Lady Gaga, Rita Ora and Ellie Goulding, on Thursday March 5 and Michael England, an award winning multi-disciplinary artist whose skills are sought from clients such as the Sony Music, the BBC and Channel 4, on Thursday 19 March.
Peter Dixon, Senior Lecturer in the University’s School of AAD, who has organised the series, commented: “Bibliothèque was the most awarded design agency in 2013 and it is a real coup for us to welcome Jon Jeffrey back to speak at Leeds Beckett - quite literally by popular demand - following his guest lecture with us in 2011. Jon has worked with some of the world’s leading brands; businesses, celebrities and companies, and it will be fascinating to hear about Bibliothèque’s further rise to success in such a competitive market.”
