Creative & Digital Careers Series
20 February – 1 May, City and Headingley Campuses
Throughout the semester there will be multiple events to help you make the most of your time at Leeds Beckett by enhancing your portfolio, networking with potential employers and gaining tips on the world of freelancing. Sessions include Film Buddy Mentoring, ‘Careers in Writing Afternoon’ and ‘How to get paid for your freelance work’.
The Gateway Launch Event
27 February, The Gateway, Leslie Silver Building, City Campus
The Gateway is the new home for all things related to employability. Based on the ground floor of Leslie Silver, this is your one stop shop for developing your skills, creating opportunities and getting new experiences. As part of this special launch event there are a host of different activities to get involved with including:
Services for Students Mini Fair, 09:30-14:30 (drop in, no requirement to book)
Psychometrics Workshops, 15:00-16:30
Pick up some tips on how to succeed in the psychometrics tests that many employers use as part of their recruitment process.
Working with Children and Young People Careers Fair
Tuesday 7 March, 11:00 – 15:00, Rose Bowl Atrium, City Campus
Interested in a rewarding career, working with children and young people? Come along and speak directly to a range of organisations to find out about the opportunities available to students from all disciplines.
Organisations attending include: Schools Direct/PGCE from Leeds Beckett University, Teach First; Americamp, Barnardo’s and Reed Education.
Health and Community Care Careers Fair
Monday 13 March, 11:00 – 15:00, Rose Bowl Atrium, City Campus
Students planning a career in healthcare have a great opportunity to discuss career options with representatives from local NHS, health and community care organisations, on campus. The event is designed to help Leeds Beckett students in all years of study find out about working in the sector and talk to professionals working in the field.
