Leeds Beckett University has appointed Trevor Armour as its new Director of Estates.

Trevor joins Leeds Beckett from Durham University, where he was the Director of Estates for 14 years.
He will take responsibility for the university’s physical and digital estates, estates strategy, capital development and maintenance.
Trevor said: “I am delighted to be joining Leeds Beckett University and to join such a dynamic team. This is a particularly exciting time for the university’s Estates team, with the construction of the new £80m Leeds School of Arts building underway at City Campus and the proposed new sports facility at Headingley.
“The university’s buildings play a vital role in shaping the Leeds skyline, especially within the city’s ‘innovation district’, while the Headingley campus is steeped in history.
“I have over 20 years’ experience within the higher education sector so I hope to bring some of my expertise and knowledge in this field to my new role at Leeds Beckett.”
In 2016, Trevor led the team responsible for the development of the new masterplan for Durham that will transform the university’s estate over the next 10 years. He was previously Head of Capital Development for Northumbria University and has held similar roles in the NHS and within the private sector.
Speaking about his role at Leeds Beckett, Trevor added: “I will be looking at the university’s estates strategy, and making sure the Estates team provides the university with a sustainable and fit-for-purpose platform, as Leeds Beckett continues to grow.
“Leeds Beckett has a diverse mix of buildings across both campuses, which may present some new challenges for me, but I am excited by the opportunity and looking forward to seeing what challenges the role brings.”
