The University of Leeds's Rugby League programme has seen major leaps forward in their performance over the last two years. In 2014/15 the team had their most successful season to date going 13 games unbeaten and finishing top in the BUCS Northern 1A league gaining promotion. In 2015/16 the club also welcomed former Leeds Rhinos Academy player George Milton to the side and have comfortably retained their Premier North status by advancing to the quarter finals of the BUCS championships.
In addition to the Varsity curtain-raiser game there will be Varsity themed entertainment in between the two games with the two university’s mascots going head-to-head in an on-pitch challenge and performances from the universities’ cheerleading and dance teams.
Students of both universities are invited to support their respective teams and a special student ticket package has been put together to include a ticket in the South Stand, a complimentary drink at the game and access to a post-game after party.
The £15 ticket includes entry to both the varsity game, which kicks off at 530pm, and the Leeds Rhinos v Castleford Tigers game, kicking off at 8pm.
