Students’ Union on shortlist for National Diversity Award and CIPR Not for Profit campaign
Nominated for a Community Organisation Award (Multi-strand) at the National Diversity Awards on 18 September, our Students’ Union will join charities and role models from across the UK. The event will take place at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral to celebrate the outstanding achievements of those who have demonstrated their devotion to enhancing equality, diversity and inclusion in today’s society.
Over 20,000 nomination and votes were received this year, paying tribute to grassroots organisations nationwide.
Students’ Union Vice President Equality & Diversity, Grace Lawrenson said: “I am delighted that the Students’ Union has been shortlisted for this award. It is a great endorsement of the tremendous amount of work that the organisation has delivered for and together with our members around equality & diversity over the past few years, and specifically within the last 12 months. I am excited to continue developing our diverse and inclusive Union in the future”.
The Students’ Union has also been shortlisted for a regional CIPR award in the Not-for-Profit Campaign category for their Give a XXXX, Give an X campaign, alongside Banana Kick and Leeds University Union, designed to encourage students to register to vote in the recent General elections.
