Construction excellence in the spotlight at industry awards
Organised by the Centre for Knowledge Exchange at Leeds Beckett University and sponsored by Atlas Cloud, the Constructing Excellence Yorkshire & Humber (CEYH) Awards brought together over 450 industry professionals, representing a wide cross-section of the construction sector, to recognise and reward the very best projects the regional built environment industry has been involved in over the last 12 months.
Hosted by BBC Look North’s Business Correspondent, Danni Hewson, the ceremony saw 15 different awards handed out, each representing the core themes of the Constructing Excellence strategy, including leadership and people development, SME of the year and project of the year.
Speaking about the awards, CEO of Atlas Cloud, Pete Watson, said: “The awards were a wonderful occasion to celebrate the great projects and innovation spearheaded in Yorkshire. Atlas Cloud were delighted to play our part as sponsor and to celebrate alongside our clients, partners and prospects.”
The night’s biggest winners were Interserve who walked away with three awards for Integration and Collaborative Working, Achiever of the Year and the much coveted Project of the Year award for Factory 2050 ARMC at the University of Sheffield. Other winners included East Riding of Yorkshire Council, BAM Morgan Sindall and Ebsford Environmental. The winners now go on to compete at the National Constructing Excellence Awards in London in November this year. Awards organiser Liz Schofield, from the Centre for Knowledge Exchange at Leeds Beckett added: “The CEYH awards provide the perfect platform to celebrate and promote the businesses which are truly moving our sector forward, and as such they get bigger and bigger every year. The sheer breadth of shortlisted projects, schemes and organisations featured show our region is at the forefront of industry creativity and driving up standards.
“Thanks to all who have taken part and we look forward to working with you again in 2017!”
