China delegation visits sports facilities
The group, including Vice Director General of the Sports Officials Training Centre of General Administration of Sport in Beijing, are in Leeds for the Chinese Olympic Committee Coaches and Officials Conference, and visited our Carnegie Sports Centre for a tour of our sporting and sports science facilities, along with meeting staff and student athletes.
Professor Sue Backhouse presented to the conference on Friday on her world-leading research into anti-doping practices and policies with the World Anti-Doping Agency and Sergio Lara-Bercial is presenting his research with the International Council for Coaching Excellence on Tuesday.
Professor Slee recounted our sporting heritage and history to the Chinese visitors, and told of our University’s many links with national and international sport before being presented with a memento of their visit.
