Leeds Beckett renew partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club
In 2010 Leeds Beckett opened the Carnegie Pavilion, designed by Alsop Sparch Architects and built in partnership with Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Forward, a 4,000 sqm multi-purpose building. It operates as a state-of-the art cricket pavilion and media centre during the summer and a teaching facility during the academic year.
The partnership also affords the University the opportunity to improve its community links, provides students with placements, internships, training facilitates and casual work in a number of diverse roles within the club.
Andy Dawson, the Club’s Commercial Director, said: “The partnership with Leeds Beckett University continues to go from strength to strength and we are very proud to play an active role in providing additional value to the benefits of attending such a proactive and forward thinking University.”
Deputy Vice Chancellor Resources, Prof Paul Smith, added: “This development of our existing partnership will help to strengthen the links between Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Leeds Beckett University, providing opportunities for students and staff to be involved in world class cricket and for the club to participate in sector leading academic opportunities and research.”
