Digital summit to propel small businesses to the next level
Taking place on Thursday 27 to Saturday 29 September at Leeds Beckett’s University Business Centre in Halifax, the Digital Shift Summit will provide digital-based SMEs with advice, information and expertise to help them to grow, create new ideas, and increase sales.
Across the three days, Leeds Beckett academics and business growth mentors will be joined by industry experts to offer a wide range of workshops, including: creating a business plan, developing an app, writing for social media, video marketing, developing a strong business pitch, and digital product development.
Attendees will also have the chance to network and learn from other SMEs in their sector and region.
Deb Hetherington, Business Engagement Manager at Leeds Beckett University, said: “The summit is aimed at businesses with a digital focus who are looking to embrace innovation. Whether those businesses already have innovative ideas and need support in implementing them, or they are looking for inspiration, this summit is for them.
“Calderdale has a growing digital eco-system and we want to be a part of that here at Leeds Beckett. There is a lot going on here and an event like this will both highlight that activity and encourage other businesses to come and see what the fuss is about.
“At the event I am looking forward to physically seeing the businesses I have been working with over the past several months gaining priceless insight from industry leaders. I have witnessed the speakers’ abilities to impart valuable knowledge to those starting out on the entrepreneurial journey, and they are both exceptional and passionate about it.”
The Calderdale Digital Summit has been funded by AD:VENTURE – a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project, bringing together universities, councils and private sector partners across the Leeds City Region to provide expert support to young businesses with an ambition to grow.
