Leeds Beckett University now has a representative on the Business Improvement District (LeedsBID) Board of Directors with the appointment of Deputy Vice Chancellor, Tracey Lancaster, as Non-Executive Director.

The organisation is working to enhance the profile and success of the city and the appointment of a Leeds Beckett representative to the Board of Directors helps to ensure that the university continues to contribute to this success.
Tracey Lancaster, Deputy Vice Chancellor (corporate communications) said: “Our university is an anchor institution in the city and has worked successfully with LeedsBID on a number of diverse and high-profile events including graduation, the ARIAS, the Teach First conference and Leeds International Festival.
“This partnership offers many opportunities for the university and for driving the success of the city. I am looking forward to representing Leeds Beckett and serving as a Non-Executive Director to help to continue to improve the city experience.”
Tracey is joined on the LeedsBID board by new appointees Wayne Topley, regional general manager at QHotels and James Prince, head of branch at John Lewis who has spent more than two years as a board advisor.
Chair of LeedsBID board Prew Lumley, retail partner at global law firm Squire Patton Boggs, said: “The skillset James, Tracey and Wayne bring is unrivalled and will not only further strengthen oversight and governance, but they will bring new ideas as to how we can take LeedsBID forward.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the new members as we continue to develop LeedsBID and progress in shaping and growing the city centre to be an ever-better place to live, work, have fun and do business.”
Leeds Beckett University’s Associate Director External Relations, Tracy Commons, and Business Engagement Manager, Deborah Hetherington, are also members of the LeedsBID steering group, which provides expertise and support to the organisation.
