1. Take in the views at Belgrave Music Hall and Canteen’s rooftop terrace:
Music, films and tasty food is a pretty great combination, but adding a rooftop view is unbeatable. Just down the road from City Campus, you can grab a spot of lunch or unwind with a round of drinks. What’s more, you can enjoy some cool views of the city while doing so.
2. Go for a stroll through Kirkstall Abbey:
Located near Headingly, Kirkstall Abbey offers some luscious views and what’s more, it’s completely free. The weather should be getting warmer however regardless of temperature you can enjoy the luscious views. Whether you want to relax with friends or take along some course reading, it's the perfect place.
3. Watch a gig at the Students’ Union:
Our SU always has something exciting going on. Why not get your friends together and choose one of the many gigs on offer. Escape from uni work and get lost in the music. Whether your favourite band is playing or you want to discover a new one, Leeds Beckett SU has loads to offer. And it will make a nice change from the library.
4. Ride down the river on a water taxi:
Costing just £1, the water taxi provides a sweet ride across the River Aire. Not only can you take some new Insta-worthy pictures of Leeds, but it takes you to the one and only Leeds Dock. From food and drink to a scenic walk, it’s hard to describe whether the journey or destination is the best part.
5. Try a movie at the Cottage Road cinema:
Located in the heart of Headingley, the Cottage Road cinema is one of the oldest cinemas in the UK. With its cool vintage interior and range of upcoming films, there’s nothing outdated about this little gem. What’s more, it’s perfect for a student budget.
