Carnegie School of Sport listed in top 100 in global academic ranking
The Carnegie School of Sport has jumped up to 54th place in the latest ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments 2020 after being listed in the top 300 in 2017 and top 200 in 2018 - it was also ranked in the top 13 for UK schools.
This remarkable rise confirms the School’s growing reputation on the global stage and further strengthens the quality and impact of its emerging research, all of which informs the school’s teaching and improves the student experience.
Professor Jeanne Keay, Pro-Vice Chancellor at Leeds Beckett, said: “This global ranking recognises the great research emerging from the Carnegie School of Sport and supports the growing reputation of the School.
“It provides the evidence of excellence often sought by international students and we believe will lead to a growth in applications. It also supports the School’s ambitions to partner with other excellent higher education providers across the world."
The school has a reputation for delivering world leading research that contributes to wider social change, which in turn attracts undergraduate and postgraduate students from across the globe. In the most recent Research Excellence Framework, Carnegie School of Sport came second in the country for research power.
