Academics helping improve Derbyshire victim services
Dr Katie Dhingra, a reader in Psychology, and Dr Tom Cockcroft, a reader in Criminology, are carrying out the research for the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Office on public perceptions of victim services in Derbyshire.
They are asking people who live in Derbyshire to fill in a short survey about their experiences as both victims and non-victims of crime.
Dr Katie Dhingra, from the School of Social Sciences, explains what will be involved: “The aims of our research are to get more of an understanding of the needs of victims of crime, which will enable a better and more effective service delivery. We want to review the victim services in Derbyshire and identify and address any gaps in service provision. This will allow us to make recommendations for the future commissioning of victim services in Derbyshire.
“The more people who fill out this survey, the greater chance we have of helping improve victim services.”
