Graduate Outcomes Survey launched
Each year the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) uses the Graduate Outcomes Survey to collect information from graduates from all UK universities to better understand the impact of their studies.
The survey will run between Thursday 1 September and Sunday 30 November and is targeted at graduates who completed their studies between May 2021 and July 2021.
Previous Graduate Outcomes results show 91.1% of Leeds Beckett graduates (full-time, home) are in work or further study 15 months after they completed their course, with 69.8% in highly skilled employment or further study.
The university has set an ambitious target of 75% of graduates in highly skilled employment by 2026. In the current regulatory landscape, the Graduate Outcomes Survey is a key metric which is used to assess the impact and effectiveness of university education upon our students and the economy. A successful return can also give critical insight into graduate successes including how meaningful and important they found their course, how they are using the skills gained from their studies and how this is helping them progress towards their future goals.
The Graduate Progression Team in Business Engagement are coordinating the university’s approach to the Graduate Outcomes Survey with preparations underway for many months. HESA have strict rules around contacting graduates directly during the survey period, so the approach focusses on targeted social media activity. To increase the reach of this activity, we would like to draw on your support in sharing key messages about the Graduate Outcomes Survey. A comms pack with social media assets and suggested posts is available for you to use.
If you would like to find out more about the Graduate Outcomes Survey, we’re pleased to invite you to one of our online briefings. These briefings will explore the ways through which you can help to improve survey response rates, highly skilled outcomes and how you can use the data from the Graduate Outcomes Survey to inform course design and inspire current students.
