Leeds Beckett Academic joins Journal of Sport Psychology in Action Editorial Board
A Reader in Sport and Performance Psychology at Leeds Beckett, Faye will join a team of experts delivering thorough, dependable, and pertinent information to sport psychology practitioners.
Faye hopes that her appointment will aid in broadening networks for the Carnegie School of Sport, as well as further encouraging global recognition of the ‘world-leading’ research taking place at the university.
“On a professional level, it is a timely opportunity that enables me to give back to the academic communities that have served me so well to date,” she explains. “It also means that I have an opportunity to assist with the growth of the journal, and to shape the field of applied sport psychology when making decisions on manuscript submissions.”
For the previous 10 years, Faye has been invested in the advancement of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), of which the Journal of Sport Psychology in Action is an official publication. She assisted on various committees, such as those responsible for international relations and performance psychology, while also acting as chair of the research development committee since 2019.
“I believe that fair, rigorous, and efficient reviews of manuscripts help to raise the standards of published research, and I am looking forward to ensuring that we strive to uphold the highest standards when offering feedback to authors,” Faye says.
“Each time we publish a peer-reviewed article, we rely on editors and peer-reviewers to provide feedback on our work, and back-of-house staff who work hard to help with proofing,” she continues. “It is a privilege to move into a position where I can assist with this work, while also remaining up to date with some of the most recent developments in our field.”
