Carnegie Basketball to battle the Warriors
With the top two teams in the pool receiving home ties, Carnegie will need to win their game against the Warriors whilst also hoping that Team Northumbria lose their tie against Newham Neptunes on Sunday.
Westminster have turned heads in the early stages of the season having won their first 4 games only losing last weekend to Newham Neptunes. This has put them second in their National Trophy pool, one place above Leeds.
Carnegie's Head Coach Matt Newby is impressed by the Warriors early performances saying:"Westminster will provide a stern test and their early form suggests they will be very competitive. The London side consistently bring an up tempo and aggressive style of play which can often displace a team's rhythm and tempo. We will have to show a more aggressive nature this weekend when such pressure comes."
Carnegie will enter the game with some injury issues as big man Ilija Ivankovic is out with a broken ankle and guard Josh Metcalf is recovering from a dislocated shoulder. Returning to action following injury will be team Captain Jack Stannard and Croatian forward Branimir Mikulic.
The game takes place at our Sports Arena at Headingley Campus. Tickets for the game will be available on the door with Adults £6, Concessions £3 and Family (2+2) £15. The new Fanzone featuring shoot around area, hot food, big screen TV's and licensed bar opens at 6:30pm.
