Having previously presented at events in York, Brighton, Lancaster and Sheffield, Dr Rebekka Kill, Head of the School of Art, Architecture and Design, last week performed at the sold-out session at The Tetley - a centre for contemporary art - in Leeds, and this week on Wednesday 22 January, at the Kirklees Creative Summit.
The presentation, which is uniquely delivered through a slideshow and DJ set,
relates to the story of Rebekka's life as both an academic and a nightclub DJ, combining her love of music and art through her other passion - social media.
Rebekka commented: "I first gave this presentation at the Shift Happens conference in York back in 2012. When I was asked to present I wanted to do something different and create a platform that was visual and incorporated music and social media, and the result was this performance set which has no words and instead brings together 200 slides that I DJ over. The event was a brilliant success, trending on Twitter and achieving an internet reach of 2.3 million.
"Following that event I was asked to do the set again as a keynote at the Brighton Digital Festival and it has evolved from there with me delivering the session at various venues and events."
You can see Rebekka's slideshow and download the presentation's playlist via Spotify on the Leeds Playlist blog here.
