Leeds Metropolitan's goal for Twickenham glory
As the reigning champions who have lost only one game this season, the Yorkshire side will go head to head with their Welsh counterparts from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
This is the fourth year that Leeds Met has made it to the final. Leeds Met secured victory against Exeter in the 2011 showpiece final, and beat them again in this season's semi-final earlier this month.
Women's rugby coach, Kris Stafford, said he was confident that Leeds Metropolitan could carry on with their winning streak: "The girls are very prepared and have been training hard as both a team and individuals in the run up to the final."
This is the first year that Kris has taken the role of head coach for the Leeds Metropolitan women's side. He also coaches the Yorkshire Ladies Rugby team who were undefeated last season.
"I was assistant coach for the Leeds Met team before this year, so it has been a great challenge coming in this season as head coach," commented Kris.
"I brought in a lot of my own ideas, and things were fairly difficult to begin with, but we have all stepped up to the mark and the team has been brilliant. Nine of the girls in the current side played last year so we have had a lot of new players this season."
Kris praised the efforts of club captain Amy Groves and first team captain, Sarah Batley, who both played in last year's Twickenham final.
"The team's success is down to all of the girls' hard work," said Kris. "Amy and Sarah have been a great help throughout the season. In preparation for the final the girls have been answering any questions or apprehensions others may have about the final as they been through it before."
The match will get underway at 11.30am on Wednesday 28 March at the home of England rugby, Twickenham.
"To coach the Leeds Met women's side to the final at Twickenham has been a privilege," added Kris. "For the team to come home with the title for the second year in a row would be a real achievement for all of them."
