New Associate Deans for Leeds Met
Dr Damian Ward joins the University as the Associate Dean of Strategic Development and Dr Simon Jones as the Associate Dean of Student Experience.
Barbara Colledge, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, commented: "It is our absolute pleasure to welcome Dr Ward and Dr Jones to Leeds Metropolitan. They are a fantastic addition to our team and their extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable to both staff and students."
Dr Ward is an economist and formerly worked at the University of Bradford, School of Management where he worked across undergraduate, postgraduate, executive and doctoral provision. He has a wealth of experience managing programmes and collaborative provision, as well undertaking funded research. He has also co-authored a successful textbook, Economics for Business.
Dr Ward, a father-of-three, has been published in leading international journals and worked as an adviser to a number of bodies including the UK Financial Services Authority.
Dr Jones joins Leeds Metropolitan from the University of Wales where he worked as Associate Dean in the Faculty of Science. His academic career has included a number of posts including Senior Tutor in Halls of Residence, and Senior Academic Admissions Tutor.
Dr Jones is a Quality Assurance Agency reviewer for IRENI and has been extensively involved in the Review of Educational Oversight of private higher education providers as a reviewer. In addition he is an Academic Associate of the Higher Education Academy, and delivers conference papers, workshops and reports on a diversity of teaching and learning, and enhancement issues.
