New director of services for students at Leeds Metropolitan
Alison, who joins from the University of East London, brings with her considerable experience gained from a 30 year career in student services, health management, and teaching and learner support; she is also both a qualified teacher and a qualified nurse.
Having joined UEL in 2004 as Associate Director of Student Services, she went on to become Director of Student Experience in 2010. Alison's previous roles have included Head of the Learning Support Unit at London South Bank University and Course Director for Access to Health Studies at City and Islington College.
Alison said: "I'm delighted to be joining Leeds Metropolitan at such an exciting time. I'm committed to improving the experiences of our students and look forward to working with both colleagues and students to build on the excellent work already in progress".

Alison, who joins Leeds Met on 13 February, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and was formerly an external moderator for the London Open College Network. She is a Specific Learning Difficulties assessor and tutor, an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Coach and an MBTI Practitioner.
