New role for Dean
Professor Ellis is also the Chair of the UK Council of Deans of Health which represents all 85 UK universities engaged in education, training and research across nursing and the health professions. He has recently completed a three-year period as Co-Chair of the National Allied Health Professional Advisory Board to the Department of Health.
Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust provides a range of community services in Leeds for adults and children including community nursing, health visiting, physiotherapy, community dentistry, primary care mental health, smoking cessation and sexual health services.
Ieuan qualified as a chartered physiotherapist, initially working clinically in the NHS and private health sectors, before taking up a post as a physiotherapy lecturer in 1987. Across a 27 year academic career working at the interface of Healthcare and Higher Education, he has developed extensive expertise through a variety of teaching, research, management and senior leadership roles
Ieuan said: "I am delighted to be appointed as a Non-Executive Director to Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. It is a great privilege to have the opportunity to join the Board at a time of significant change across the health and care sectors but with key opportunities for developing innovative, better integrated care and care closer to home.
"I look forward to engaging with staff and service users across the trust to promote continuous improvement in patient experience through ensuring delivery of high quality, safe and cost-effective services."

Ieuan has been appointed from 1 April 2014 until 31 March 2016.
