Shaping the future in events
Held from 11am to 2.30pm on Thursday May 10 at Headingley Stadium, the free event, entitled 'Shaping the Future of Events', will include guest speakers Richard Murphy of Ilkley-based company, First Event and Sue Reay from Benchmark Communications.
The Meeting Professionals International (MPI) research team will give insights into the latest industry global trends and research while there will also be a workshop with presentations. The day is an opportunity for events suppliers, producers and buyers from Yorkshire and the Humber to come together. As well as networking, attendees will have the chance to judge innovative ideas being showcased in an expo by Leeds Metropolitan Events Management undergraduates.
Jackie Mulligan, principal lecturer of Events, Tourism and Hospitality at Leeds Metropolitan University and founder of YEN, said: "The event is designed to help attendees develop creative ideas, learn about trends to enhance their global competitiveness and share ideas to help shape the future of events in their own companies and in the region."
