Student-led dance conference hosted by Leeds Met
Bookings are now open for the event, which will take place at the University's Headingley Campus from 8.20am-4.30pm on Tuesday 6 May. The day is aimed at students, teachers, artists, advisers and anyone else involved in raising the profile of dance in schools and the community.
Organiser Dr John Connell, a Senior Lecturer in Dance at Leeds Met, said the conference would focus on Cross-phase and Key Stage 3 opportunities to develop physical literacy in and through Dance.
"The conference will be a great opportunity for those attending to draw on the experience of professionals in the sector and students who have been teaching in secondary schools across West Yorkshire," he commented. "The conference is led by third year Physical Education undergraduates studying Dance who will share their original Dance Handbooks in both practice and theory."
Parking will be free on campus and refreshments can be purchased on site. The event is free but there will be fundraising for Candlelighters, a charity organisation fighting children's cancer.
