UK Economic Impact Study outcomes to be presented in Edinburgh
Jackie Mulligan, Principal Lecturer and Director of Enterprise at the UK Centre for Events Management (UKCEM), will be speaking at the Business Tourism Members Breakfast Seminar in Edinburgh this week. Jackie's presentation will cover the outcomes of the UK Economic Impact Study (UKEIS), which the team from Leeds Metropolitan University's International Centre for Research in Events, Tourism and Hospitality conducted on behalf of meetings industry association, Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
The seminar is hosted by Marketing Edinburgh, the official destination marketing organisation dedicated to promoting Edinburgh to the world as a destination to visit, study, live, invest and work. Approximately 100 Marketing Edinburgh members, all with a business tourism background, will attend the seminar.
Speaking about her upcoming presentation, Jackie said: "Having completed this landmark study it is vital that we now use the outcomes to support the meetings industry. The audience in Edinburgh are keen to use the findings to shape their investment and business development strategies."
Leading stakeholders also presenting at the event include Roger Querns of Network Rail, Neil Brownlee of Visit Scotland and John Donnelly, CEO of Marketing Edinburgh.
