Welcome to Yorkshire Commercial Director to talk at Leeds Met
The free public event is to be held on Tuesday 17 September from 6-7pm in the Rose Bowl at the University's City Campus.
Peter, who joinedthe award-winning destination management organisation Welcome to Yorkshire in 2009, has helped to successfully raise the profile of Yorkshire at a regional, national and international level.
Yorkshire is the UK's biggest county and tourism is its third biggest sector, worth more than £7bn a year. Welcome to Yorkshire has helped grow this figure from £5.9bn back in 2009 and Peter has overseen a series of award-winning, high profile national and international campaigns.
Paul Houghton, Principal Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Leeds Met, said: "We are delighted to welcome Peter Dodd to open our 2013/14 business guest lecture series. Welcome to Yorkshire continues to make a real difference, promoting tourism in the region, across the UK and beyond. It will be fascinating to hear what he has to say about Yorkshire staging next year's Tour de France - which is a real coup for the area. This lecture will be a must for anyone with an interest in the sport and business in our region."
