The annual Golden Robes ceremony recognises university and students’ union colleagues who go that extra mile to make a real difference to life at Leeds Beckett.
But this last year has been like no other.
The unprecedented challenges of a global pandemic have seen so many individual colleagues and teams go above and beyond that this traditional award process didn’t seem enough.
For this reason, we’re pausing The Golden Robes this year and instead we welcome Beckett’s Big Thank You!
This is an opportunity for all students, university, and students’ union colleagues to say the biggest thank you to any individual colleague or team who has supported them through these most challenging of times.
Your recipient will receive an e‑card containing the Thank You and selected messages will be shared more widely.
I would like to thank Frazer. He is there for every single member of staff and every student. He works tirelessly with each department and ensures the School is running smoothly in every way.
Who is your "Big Thank You" for?
So, who do you want to say your Big Thank You to?
Do you work with an unsung hero who gives it their all every time and makes a vital difference to your team?
Has someone given you extra help with your studies this year or stepped in with outstanding tech support to get that assignment in on time?
Or do you know someone who has been a real ray of sunshine, keeping spirits up despite the lockdowns?
How it works
Decide who you would like to say your Big Thank You to. You can send an e‑card to any current colleague at Leeds Beckett University or Leeds Beckett Students’ Union.
2. Fill in the form
Follow the steps in the form choosing the School, Service or Students’ Union the colleague works in. All our colleagues’ names will appear in the A-Z drop down lists. Write your personal message of thanks in the Thank You box. If your e‑card is for more than one person, you can send it to multiple people on the form’s final page.
Click submit. Your message will be sent automatically as an e-thank you card to the colleague’s LBU email address. That’s it!
