Nick is a Research Officer with the Centre for Dementia Research working with members of the CDR towards REF 2029.
Nick's PhD research explored an Applied Theatre approach to Biomedical Research and how actors might embody symptoms of Alzheimer's disease within the rehearsal process. The culmination of that research project was a toolkit of nine exercises which explores the symptomatic effects of Alzheimer's disease related to the following categories: hearing and social interactions, langauge perception, and emotions and memory. The workshop guide was explored and tested practically with professional actors.
Nick's practice background is rooted in community theatre, practice led research and experimental rehearsal practices.
