Hannah Rossmorris

Senior Lecturer

Hannah Rossmorris is a Senior Lecturer based in the UK Centre for Events Management. Her areas of interest and expertise include:

  • The Licensing Act 2003
  • Event Safety and Risk Management
  • Crowd Management
  • Event Law

In addition to her research interests Hannah is also a practitioner within the events industry, with over 20 years experience of working on events.  She has undertaken consultancy work in safety, crowd management and licensing for a diverse range of clients including (but not limited to) the Tour de France, Tour de Yorkshire, 2012 Olympics, Deer Shed Festival, Parklife, Kendal Calling, Mint Fest, Festival No6, Showsec and Sheffield Pride.

Research Interests

Hannah is currently a PhD student at the University of Leeds Law School. Her research examines the interrelationship between youth culture, government policy and law.  Specifically, this involves examining the interface between youth culture and grassroots music venues, and analysing the impact that regulation and legislation has on these venues. Analysis of licensing law (specifically the Licensing Act 2003) and practice in the UK is central to her research.
