Senior Lecturer

Suzanne Simpson is a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education at the Carnegie School of Education, a HEA and CollectivED fellow. She has specific experience in Primary and Early Years education and leadership.

Suzanne works with student teachers and their school based mentors towards recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status. Contributing to a variety of courses in the teacher education department, she shares her experience and expertise in developing and maintaining professional relationships, supporting positive behaviours, health, wellbeing and emotional literacy.

As an experienced leadership coach, Suzanne Quality Assures training routes for Senior Mental Health Leadership in Schools. She also supervises master’s students who are researching in areas related to her professional experiences and expertise and is an IQA for Forest Schools Training.

Suzanne's work in HE builds on varied and demanding experiences as a senior leader in education and a comprehensive variety of other teaching experiences in (substantially) primary, early years, secondary and adult education spanning over twenty years. She been a key player in a range of international Early Years and Primary Education links in Asia and Africa through which she has consistently demonstrated innovation and commitment to multidisciplinary collaborations and forward thinking ventures.
