Due to the increase in blended and flexible learning, Library and Student Services have curated a large collection of electronic resources, including e-books.

Where possible, e-books have been purchased individually, or as part of large-scale e-book collections to enhance the quality of subject-related content. The acquisition of e-books and print to supplement this is the standard policy for all cohorts.

The Learning Resources Team work closely with academics and Academic Librarians teams to ensure e-book content is regularly updated and of a high academic quality.

New e-books are added to the library collection daily for reading lists, as well as the acquisition of large-scale e-book collections and subscriptions for cross-subject as well as subject-specific use.

You can search for new e-book collections via the e-book collections page, which is regularly updated with information on the collection and accessibility guidelines.

Information on new electronic resources available for the academic year is available via the New Academic Resources 23/24 page. This is regularly updated with new content that you can browse and add to module reading.

Discover is the best place to search for e-books.

You can search for them in the same way that you search for print books, using title and author information.

To search only for e-books, select e-book from the drop-down menu under Format in the filters on the left.

If you are searching for e-books within a specific subject area, you can also search within a specific eBook collection. A comprehensive list of available e-books collections and platforms is available on the e-book collections library webpage.

Once you have found a title you want to use, see our guidance on Talis Bookmarking to add it to a reading list.

The Library has access to a wide range of e-books across multiple platforms. If you have any questions, the library website provides FAQs on how to support e-book availability, as-well as information on licensing, downloading and accessibility features within the main e-book platforms.

All FAQ's are available from the eBooks library webpage.

If you are unable to find e-book content in our library collection or experiencing e-book access issues, please contact the Learning Resources Team at libraryonline@leedsbeckett.ac.uk

If you have any questions on linking e-books to your reading list using the Talis Bookmark, please contact the Reading List Team at readinglists@leedsbeckett.ac.uk
