Which Assessment tool should I use?

Assessment tools at a glance

This table will help you choose the best assessment tool, please note that all of these are referred to as 'Assignments', however, these can also be used for other assessments as well.

Recommended/
Good for:

Any content other than substantial word processed text that requires checking for originality.

As for Blackboard assignments but:

Allows lengthy submission instructions.

Work with multiple parts having the same deadline, including multiple types of media.

Word processed assignments.

File types

Any. (But bear in mind that markers will need appropriate software to view these.) 

In order to submit video, students must use a special tool - Panopto Video Submission. Most video files are too big to simply attach as files.

Same as Blackboard assignments.

File size limits

Markers need to fully download attached files so please ask students to keep files reasonably small. Preferably under 100MB.

Same as Blackboard assignments.

100MB maximum upload

Submission must contain at least 20 words and must be less than 800 pages in length.

Markers view on-line and do not need to download files.
