I have always been interested in the law and how it works since I was younger. Also, I always wanted to know why it was the way it is, I always wanted to know why people acted the way they do surrounding the law and that’s why I believe that law with criminology was the right subject for me, I was instantly intrigued by all the topics. I also did my own research into the subjects in which I study in my years at university and I was excited to learn about them all, it is just a subject which I am passionate about and I knew that Leeds Law School was the right place to study.

The most challenging part about university for me is balancing my time with university and work, I currently work alongside my studies so that I have a regular income. I would like to be able to dedicate more effort and time into my studies as that is the most important. I use my regular income for my travel to and from university, which is taxis and trains, prices are increasing as time goes on so I work as much as I can but I’d love to be able to cut my hours down so that I could dedicate that time to university studies.

The scholarship will help me in various different ways. I would specifically use the scholarship funds for university resources. There are multiple different books that I have come across which I know are beneficial to a law student however the best ones are usually the most expensive. I would also use it for my transport too and from university and buy a monthly train ticket to save myself some money, as it costs more to travel daily however it’s a lot of money to buy outright.

Five years after graduating I would like to have gained some experience within a law firm. I would like to have helped many different people where they could not helped themselves and also maybe working with some people who have just graduated university. In the far future I would like to have my own law firm, but I will not be able to do this without experience first. I am hoping by this time I also will have my own house and my own space to work, and a stable income, these will always be a main goal for me.
