Taking notice

It is heartening that despite little publicity researchers are taking notice of our archive and special collections. We have had two notable visitors in recent weeks.

Paul Rooney is an artist and at present working on an installation for Broadcasting Place. Paul uses  text, sound and video to create his work. He has taken an interest in our collection and has agreed to donate the background material of the project to the archive.
Sophie Bowness is an art historian and curator and has produced work on artists such as Georges Braque, Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. Sophie is also a granddaughter of Barbara Hepworth, and was particularly interested in our collection of Leeds College of Art scrapbooks.

All our visitors have given us some positive feedback on our collections which is very encouraging and a spur to continue with the work.
