Leeds School of Arts student designs face mask for NHS workers

Taylor Overton-Barrett is a third year product design student in our Leeds School of Arts. Taylor has designed a protective face mask for NHS workers.

He then raised more than £3000 in cash, gathered donations of materials from local firms, assembled a team of 50 co-workers, and is manufacturing his designs using 3D printing facilities. So far Taylor and his team have donated and delivered around 320 masks to nurses, paramedics, care homes, GPs, pharmacies and schools for free and they are producing 60 masks a day to meet growing demand – 2,500 orders at the last count.
