To celebrate and support LGBTQ+ history month this February there are plenty of events taking place for you to get involved in. Leeds Becketts LGB+ Rep for LBSU, Eve Walters, shares two of the event highlights this month, all allies welcome to join!
Virtual Documentary Night - 'The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson'
When: Sunday 13th February at 7.30pm
What: Collectively watch the documentary 'The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson' on Netflix (You don’t need your own Netflix account to join). Martha P Johnson was an inspirational transgender woman who fought for her rights during the Stonewall Riots in 1969.

Claire Linacre discusses what LGBTQ+ history month means for national charity Akt
When: Monday 22nd February at 2pm
What: Akt is a national charity supporting LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment. Claire Linacre is the Donor Engagement Manager at Akt. Claire will be offering insight into what the month means and discussing how Akt has responded to the challenges posed by the pandemic.
