This will happen in several stages with the health and safety of students and University staff as the most important factor. Please see below for more information about each stage so that you know what to expect.

The first stage was to make provision for you to return books on loan and you can now do that. You can return books from either Library to a drop-off point in the Leslie Silver Building (Woodhouse Lane entrance) Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00.

The second stage is for Library staff to be back on campus, initially behind the scenes, to start up a "click and collect" service for you to borrow books. We expect this service to be available in August but we don't yet have a date for it. We will let you know as soon as we do.

The third stage will be to open the Libraries from 1 September. We will make socially distanced spaces to study available which you will need to book online before you come into the Library.

In the meantime we're working on routes around the building, protocols for shared use of books and equipment, booking systems and safe staff working arrangements.

The Library is still open online with our web pages giving you access to thousands of electronic resourcesonline appointments with your Academic Librarian and our Skills for Learning Team and 24/7 Library and Student IT Advice.

We will update this page with more information as it becomes available but please also follow us on Twitter for the latest updates.
