ICRETH PhD students meet world leading visiting scholar

Michelle Lanham one of the PhD students says about the meeting with Jennie: “It is really encouraging to hear from established researchers about their work, especially in a field that relates to my own PhD research. Throughout the PhD journey, when you are still developing your own area of interest, it is really helpful to get advice and to have time to air your own ideas with a supportive colleague. Speaking with Jennie really has boosted my own confidence as a researcher.”

Guy Lincoln who conducts doctoral research on the topic of non-rational financial decision making in hospitality opines: “to meet Jennie and to further understand that there are people interested in and working on affect and emotion in the fields of Tourism and (particularly) Hospitality is a great boost. Jennie was both accessible and insightful and was able to help me to generate new ways of thinking about some of the issues I am currently grappling with. The fresh perspectives that arrive from engagement with colleagues who share our interests and work in our discipline; but not in our university or our immediate work environment, is invaluable”.

Jennie Germann Molz equally enjoyed talking with the PhD students and learning more about their exciting research. Jennie enthusiastically remarks: “I’m very impressed by the ambitious projects they are undertaking and inspired by the creative theoretical and methodological approaches they are applying. I look forward to following up with them later on their journeys to find out what they discover in their research!”
