Animations & Interaction

The Leeds Beckett University website occasionally uses animations to page elements and animated gifs to add impact to pages. If you wish to stop them from playing for accessibility purposes or for personal preference then please see the guidance below. Please note that browsers sometimes change how they operate, so please refer to your browser help files to find their latest information.
How do I turn off animations?

Chrome

Chrome users will need to use browser extensions. Animation Policy from Google will help you set your own preferences.

Microsoft Edge

There is currently no way to disable animations within Microsoft Edge. Users of Edge (Chromium) browser can install the Chrome extensions above and use them.

Internet Explorer

To stop animations on a single page you can just press the 'Esc' key. This will stop the animation on that page. If you wish to restart the animations you need to refresh the page. To permanently disable the playing of animated GIF images, open Internet Options > Advanced tab. Under the Multimedia section, uncheck the Play animations in webpage check-box, click Apply and Exit and then restart your computer.

Firefox

Type about:config in Firefox address bar and hit Enter to open Settings. Search for the image.animation_mode flag and change its value from Normal to None. Once you restart Firefox this will disable animations.

Hospitality Business Management alumni, Josh Stephenson is leading the way with his innovative catering company

Josh and his business partner’s catering company, The Grazing Guys has been awarded West Yorkshire catering suppliers of the year in the Hitched Wedding Awards 2022.

The Hitched Wedding awards are awarded to UK businesses that have been highly rated and recommended for their professionalism, quality of work, flexibility and customer service. Over 16,000 suppliers were entered into the 2022 awards and judging was based on the opinion of almost 8 million couples!

Since graduating from Leeds Beckett University, Josh has had a successful career in the hospitality industry. His previous roles include Area/Business Development Manager at the Well Fed Pub Company and General Manager at the Gray Ox Inn before going it alone and setting up The Grazing Guys and sister company Fizz Fellas.

Josh and his business partner, Huw established their innovative catering company back in 2020 when they saw a gap in the market for chef quality grazing tables and feasts. Working with local producers, they deliver the latest food trends to their customers.

Course Director, Dr Alexandra Kenyon commented on their award “We are very proud of Josh and his achievements. It is great to see our alumni running a successful business and adding new elements to the hospitality industry. Congratulations to Josh and Huw on this prestigious award!”
