Tell us a bit about yourself and what drew you to study Dietetics?

From a young age, I have been deeply aware of the role food plays in health due to my own experiences with multiple food allergies and intolerances. This early awareness sparked a natural curiosity about food and nutrition, which has only grown over time. My personal challenges led me to explore the connections between diet, health, and wellbeing, and the transformative impact that dietary advice can have on a person’s life.

This interest became more defined during my science studies, particularly in biology and chemistry. Learning about the interplay between human metabolism, biochemistry, and the science of food helped me see how integral nutrition is to overall health. The knowledge I gained solidified my decision to pursue a career in this field, where I could apply scientific principles to practical and meaningful work.

My own positive experiences with dietitians have also greatly influenced my aspirations. Seeing how they were able to provide tailored guidance to improve my confidence and wellbeing inspired me to want to help others in a similar way. Understanding the profound difference nutrition professionals can make in people’s lives has further fuelled my determination to follow this path.
