Why events?

For me events have been an important part of my life from my childhood.

I participated in events and always wanted to create something of my own

I got into management and worked from scratch as a volunteer then grew to being a Sr. Client Servicing in an event organization. I created and worked with various teams and clients across India and other parts of the world. I love the rush and the creativity which goes into each project. Every project has been special and important for me. But I wanted to learn more and never stop growing in events. My passion has got me into Leeds Beckett University. My goal is to continue being creative and not give up on events and keep learning the latest ways of creating and producing events. To learn from the best and gain as much skill as possible.

MSC International Event Management at LBU

When I applied to many universities in UK

Leeds Beckett stood out for its amazing modules and connections to event management.

All the subjects are useful and interesting if you put your heart and passion in the course. I loved how each module helps you become familiar with each aspect from the event industry and how it helps you in creating an event. The professors help you with any question you have related to the subject or related to your career opportunities.

Resources at uni

The library is the most significant resource at the university, and the professors are also of great assistance. We receive guidance at the start of our course regarding how to study, write, and deliver our assessments. If you have questions, you can just write an email to the professors or you can also meet them personally to clear up any doubts and questions.

Planning and studying, two things that most students neglect to do, are the best ways to learn and catch up. Events is all about planning and executing and being ready for surprises to avoid this I plan my calendar accordingly. Since I am an international student I have to think about the 20-hour limit for paid work I can do, assignments and learning on field through volunteering. For all this to happen and to have some fun, planning and working accordingly helps a lot. I am old school so I write my to do list in my diary and check them each day. Time management is something that all students should practice, and planning and working according to your assignments are essential.

Tips to take forward

Integrity, referencing style, and plagiarism are all terms that should be known and learned. All of them take time, but you can only understand them once you attempt and give them time.

If you are here to study, the most important thing is to not give up and ask more questions and receive aid from the appropriate people.

I started by reading through all the prior modules and researching everything that was crucial. When I had questions, I would send my professors a lot of emails, and they always responded and assisted me. Once I realized how things are done and began making plans accordingly and everything slowly worked out for me.
