An opportunity for occupational therapists to learn about the contemporary use of occupational science and models of occupation in practice. Students will consider occupation-centred, focused and based practice and will leave with a plan on how to develop a focus on occupation in their practice setting

This one day course is all about occupation. Occupation is the unique professional perspective of occupational therapists but can get lost in practice which is shaped by competing demands. Students will explore how to use occupational science and models of occupation to underpin professional reasoning and inform the occupational therapy process. Making occupation the centre of a service and how to use interventions that are occupation based and focused will be considered so that students develop an action plan for developing their practice.
