In 2021, 73.3% of 75 Level 3-5 accredited+ British Tennis Coaches reported that they provided nutrition advice to their players, however, only 27% of these coaches demonstrated sufficient knowledge to do so. This series of nutrition coach education workshops is for all Level 1-5 Tennis Coaches wishing to develop their tennis specific nutrition knowledge to ensure that they are in a position to support their players sufficiently, so that the players can nurture their bodies’ for optimal health and performance.
This course will expand coaches’ knowledge of effective nutrition habits for players, as well as enable a greater understanding of how to influence behaviour change positively and overcome barriers to optimal nutrition habits. Moreover, coaches will explore how they can maintain their own performances on court via efficient nutrition practices.
Each workshop will run in a face to face environment at Leeds Beckett University Sports Centre and will be delivered by Nic Tweedy. Nic is a Sport and Exercise Registered Nutritionist, but also has a background in tennis being a Level 3 Accredited+ Tennis Coach.
