South Africa Entry Requirements

 

You can find information below containing the minimum qualifications you will require. This varies depending on whether you want to study an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. Entry requirements do also vary for each course, but the information here will give you a general guide.

As well as your academic qualifications we will also consider your personal statement and references. If you are studying A Levels or the International Baccalaureate, you can find these entry requirements on the course pages in our Online Prospectus.

South Africa Entry Requirements

Qualification: Senior Certificate with Matriculation

Grade: Less than 5 passes at 60%

English language requirements: IELTS 4.5 with no skills below 4.5

Qualification: Senior Certificate with Matriculation

Grade: 5 passes a grade C or above or a score between 60% and 69%

OR

Qualification: National Senior Certificate (IEB / NSC)

Grade: 5 passes at Grade 5 or above or a score between 60% and 69% 

OR

Qualification: National (Technical) Certificate 

OR

Qualification: National Certificate (S1) & National Higher Certificate (S2)

 

English language requirements for all of the above: IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 or National Senior Certificate (NSC)/Senior Certificate with Matriculation endorsement (Matric) – English Grade 5 or 60%

Qualification: Bachelor degree

Grade: 75% for a 1st or 70% for a 2:1 or 60% for a 2:2

English language requirement: IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5 or National Senior Certificate (NSC)/Senior Certificate with Matriculation endorsement (Matric) – English Grade 5 or 60%

English Language Requirements
