Kevin Hylton is Professor of Equality and Diversity in Sport, Leisure and Education. He is also Head of the Research Centre for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. His research focuses on the nature and extent of 'race', racism and racialisation in sport, leisure and education.

He has published a number of books including Race, Racism and Sports Journalism (2012) and Sport, Racism and Social Media (2014) and Sport and Discrimination (2016). He is the founder of Creating and Developing Coaches, a networking event which aims to achieve inclusion among under-represented football communities. He is trustee of the community cohesion charities the Zesh Rehman Foundation (ZRF) and the Annie Zaidi Foundation, and has worked with organisations such as the FA, Kick It Out and Leeds United FC.
