Technology, Innovation and Global Law research group (TIG)
We are a group of dynamic and globally engaged researchers, academics, practitioners and postgraduate students with a shared interest in the legal, regulatory and governance issues raised by innovation and emerging technologies. We are concerned with the way that new technologies are impacting every aspect of law, policy and governance. As issues surrounding AI, cybersecurity, data governance, digital rights, and platform regulation become increasingly central to legal practice and policymaking, the group provides a collaborative space for research, discussion, and impact-driven scholarship.
Our interests focus on:
- legal tech
- cybersecurity and cyber governance
- AI governance and regulation
- global data protection and cross-border data flows
- law and construction
- law and emerging technologies (blockchain, IoT, quantum, biotech)
- innovation law
- IP in global development
- law and technology
We envision building a dynamic, inclusive, and globally engaged research environment that leverages a wide range of opportunities and events to enhance research at the Leeds Law School.
