who can  join a team?

Inclusivity is important to us.

You don't have to study a sports degree to play for one of our teams.

We actively encourage everyone, no matter their background, to consider joining one of our teams. Additionally, we work with a multitude of organisations to help make sport a more inclusive space for everyone.

why should i join a team?

There are so many great reasons to join a sports team at Leeds Beckett University.

Your time in one of our teams will help to shape your student experience, give you memories and friends for years to come and even make you more employable!

how to join a team

Here at Leeds Beckett, we believe that the hard work belongs in training, so we've tried to make it as simple as possible to sign up to our sports teams.

Start off by finding a team you're passionate about. Most clubs train outside of the university day and have multiple teams, but it's still worth considering the training hours and if the team requires you to have any experience.

Once you've found a team you want to join, simply get in touch with them, and they will walk you through the process of trials (if applicable), joining the Athletics Union and getting started as a Leeds Beckett athlete.

Our 'Clean Sport' commitment

All sporting participants have the right to compete in drug-free sport (Clean Sport). Leeds Beckett University adopts the UK Anti-Doping and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) position that cheating, including doping, is fundamentally contrary to the spirit of sport, undermining the otherwise positive impact it can have on society.
