Dr Farrukh Saleem

Senior Lecturer

Farrukh is currently working as a Senior Lecturer in School of Built Environment, Engineering, and Computing at Leeds Beckett University, Leeds, UK. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor, Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He received his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Technology Malaysia.

Farrukh has taught and led a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in face-to-face and online learning modes, including machine learning, data mining, data science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, decision support systems, and emerging business technologies.
His research areas include machine learning, data science, artificial intelligence, decision support systems, business intelligence, and enterprise architecture. He has also supervised students’ research projects and theses for undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive MS with a wide range of research topics related to the computer science and machine learning fields. He has published 46+ international articles in journals and conferences and participated in 10 funded research projects.

In his professional career, Farrukh also performed his duties on several administrative posts in higher education, such as Director of Academic Affairs, Head of Academic Advising Unit, and Program Coordinator. In addition, he used to work as a member of the Focused Curriculum Committee, Graduate and Scientific Research Committee, and Accreditation Committee.
